|
Hairpieces get dirty as a part of normal use. Hair-styling products build up on a hairpiece, and dirt and dust accumulate on it as well. A dirty hairpiece looks dull and is hard to style. It will tangle easily, and look flat and even dirty. Yet hairpieces have to be cleaned carefully to avoid damaging them. Step 1 Step 2 Fill a large mixing bowl with cool water. Step 3 Add 1tsp., of shampoo to the cool water. Swish the water around with your hand to mix the shampoo and water. Step 4 Submerge the hairpiece in the soapy water and let it sit for 5 minutes. Step 5 Fill another large mixing bowl with cool water. Step 6 Add 1 tsp. of conditioner to the water, Swish the water around with your hand to mix the conditioner and water. Step 7 Remove the hairpieces from the soapy water and place it in the conditioner/water mixture. let the hairpiece sit in this solution for 5 minutes. Step 8 Remove the hairpiece from the solution and place it on a clean towel. Use another towel to gently blot the hairpiece, to remove excess water. Step 9 Lay the hairpiece on a dry towel. Leave it there until it is fully dry. Sept 10 Brush the hairpiece gently with a brush. Do not brush the hairpiece until it is fully dry. Brushing a wet hairpiece can cause breakage of the hairs, and could cause hairs to fall out of the piece. Things You'll Need Hair brush, mixing bowls, Towels, Shampoo, Conditioner
